PMQ is one of the place to discover high quality designer's work in Hong Kong. The building was the Police Married Quarters built in 1951 and last November 2010, the government announce that the building will be reserved as a site for creative industries uses. I think this is one of the reason why Hong Kong is a great place to live in, they support emerging artists as much as they can. The operations and recreation of the building was financed by Musketeers Foundation by donating HK$10 Million.

Some of the cool stuff we saw yesterday was the exhibit of Zlism "I am not alone" exhibition which will run until the 29th of June. From the shop, you can get free posters and stickers. They also sell fashionable items designed by Ms. Zoei Law. As what she have mentioned in the PMQ website:

"Zlism is a planet where many many people live in, they have different characteristics and they are so kind and with positive mind. ZLISM exhibition shows my drawings which finished in different period of time including my earliest works. And ZLISM citizens tell the story of my every drawings. I used to apply different materials and fluorescent colors in my works, My drawings adopted to use pin pen and fluorescent pen; spray and acrylic for the big size works."

The art stuff are for sale too, but I just can't decide which one to choose. They are just the cutest!

Another interesting Art Workshop I saw was the one offered in MBA Art Workshop. They claimed that you need no talent, skills nor background in art (I am not sure what to feel about this). I am very tempted to do their Jackson Pollock Drip Action Painting where you will be able to come up with abstract. It will cost you HK$480 if you take the class on a weekday, and HK$580 if you take the class on a weekend. The workshop will last for 2 hrs. The most popular one is the Andy Warhol Portraiture Painting.

We also saw Ricky Lai's exhibition, a graduate from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. He is active in graphic design, illustration, music composition and other creative fields. His exhibition entitled 69˚N 51˚W became one of the winning works of The Fourth Young Writers' Debut Competition. He had spent 2,000 hours creating numerous illustrations and even an original soundtrack.

PMQ has a lot of things happening so make sure to check out their website here: http://www.pmq.org.hk
